Microbridge Technologies appoints Dr. Adam Chowaniec as Chairman of the Board of Directors
High-tech executive accepts Chairman's position on Microbridge Technologies Board
Montréal, Québec, December 19, 2003 - Microbridge Technologies Inc., a privately-held technology company today announced the appointment of Dr. Adam Chowaniec as the Chairman of the Company's Board of Directors.

"Dr. Chowaniec will contribute directly to our strategic direction, business plans and he will provide us with valuable industry contacts."

Dr. Chowaniec has served on numerous boards of directors in the United States and Canada, including Amiga and GEAC Computer Corporations. He currently serves on the boards of IceFyre Semiconductor Corporation, Belair Networks, and SiberCore Technologies Inc. He is also on the advisory boards of Ottawa Hydro Holdings Corporation.
Dr. Chowaniec is Chair of the board of Tundra Semiconductor, Chair of the Information Technologies Association of Canada, and Vice-Chair of the Ottawa Health Research Institute.
Dr. Chowaniec began his career as a member of the scientific staff of Bell Northern Research. From there, he moved into engineering management at Nortel Networks. In 1983, as vice-president of technology with Commodore International, Dr. Chowaniec was responsible for the development of the Amiga personal computer.
1986, Dr. Chowaniec was appointed President and CEO of Calmos Systems and was instrumental in having Calmos Systems acquired by Newbridge Networks Corporation. In December 1995, Dr. Chowaniec was the founding CEO of Tundra Semiconductor Corporation.
Dr. Chowaniec has been recognized for his leadership, business excellence and innovation. In 1998, the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation (OCRI) awarded him its prestigious Chairman's Award. Also in 1998, the Carleton Board of Trade honoured Dr. Chowaniec with its Silver Business Person of the Year. In 1999, Dr. Chowaniec received the Gold Business Person of the Year, from the Ottawa Board of Trade.
Dr. Chowaniec holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University (Canada) and a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield (England). His affiliations include the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
